On October 7, 2022, a Bitcoin proponent named Jim Blasko claimed to have discovered the earliest upload of the Bitcoin version 0.1 codebase. The original code was thought to have been lost for over a decade, and through a small browser hack, Blasko was able to find the missing version 0.1 original data and files stored on sourceforge.net.
For over a decade, Satoshi Nakamoto’s version 0.1 codebase was considered lost. Bitcoin proponent Jim Blasko revealed via a Facebook post on Oct. 7 that he was able to scrape long-lost code through a browser hack.
After explaining some history, Blasko detailed that it took Bitcoin’s creator about six months to mine the inventor’s 1 million Bitcoins.
