Football finance expert Kieran Maguire said Chelsea would be pinning their hopes on the Metaverse if they could convince people to pay for a pay-per-view game through headphones.
Kieran Maguire added: “I think Chelsea’s consortium is very media tech-focused, they know Chelsea has a global fan base and most of that base doesn’t make it to Stamford Bridge and doesn’t have many tickets. Maybe they’re thinking: Can we give the fans a Stamford Bridge feel? And this needs to rely on the metaverse to achieve.
