Despite the recent indictment, former US President Donald Trump has announced that he will be releasing Series 2 of his NFT series, the Trump Digital Trading Card.
While these tokens will be minted on Polygon MATIC -1.56% and retain their original price of $99, they will have a different art, rarity, and utility than the first series.
The second season includes 47,000 NFTs, 2,000 more than the first quarter, which will be released in December 2022. Collectors who buy 47 tokens will have the chance to dine with Trump at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida instead of entering the lottery.
For collectors who purchase 100 tokens using cryptocurrency, they will not only get dinner, but also unique Trump-themed artwork.
The announcement of a second season came as a surprise to many, given Trump’s recent legal troubles. However, the former president remains confident in the success of his NFT collection. In a statement, he said: “Series 1 is just the beginning. I know Series 2 will be even better and I can’t wait for my supporters and fans to see what we have in store.”
The first season of Trump Digital Trading Cards featured photos of the former president, along with his famous catchphrases and quotes. The collection sold out within hours of its launch, with some collectors reselling the tokens for thousands of dollars.
A release date for Series 2 has yet to be announced, but it’s expected to be soon. Trump has been active in the NFT market since the release of the first season, and even launched a social media platform dedicated to NFT collectors and enthusiasts.
