The Central Bank of Honduras has denied rumors of adopting bitcoin as legal tender, according to a statement released earlier this Wednesday. The country’s central bank has clarified that it is the only legal authority in the country to issue banknotes and coins.
Meanwhile, the Central Bank of Honduras made it clear that it “does not supervise or guarantee” payments made with the help of cryptocurrencies. In addition, the Central Bank of Honduras said it will continue to evaluate the feasibility of developing a central bank digital currency.
