Jay Chou said that he just received a call and was told that the NFT of the Boring Ape that his friend gave him was attacked by a phishing website and stolen, and stressed that this is not an “April Fool’s Day joke”.

Jay Chou lost a total of four valuable NFT avatars

According to Etherscan data, hackers have sold four NFTs stolen by Jay Chou, making a profit of 166.69 ETH, of which only one “BAYC” was sold for 111 ETH, or about $390,000.

“BAYC” is one of the most popular NFT avatar projects in the world, with a total of 10,000 pieces, which will be released in 2021. Including Jay Chou, NBA star Stephen Curry, Brazilian football player Neymar, and pop singer Madonna are all their avatar holders.

On Opensea, the world’s largest NFT trading platform, the lowest price of a “BAYC” has reached 109 ETH, or about $380,000.

Previously, “BAYC” parent company Yuga Labs completed a $450 million financing, reaching a valuation of $4 billion, led by A16z, and became the largest NFT trendy brand in the circle.

It is reported that just a few days ago, some hackers took advantage of the upgrade of the NFT trading platform OpenSea contract to send a phishing email to the mailboxes of all users, and many users mistakenly regarded it as an official email and authorized their wallets. As a result, the wallet was stolen.

According to statistics, this phishing email led to the theft of at least 3 BAYC, 37 Azuki, 25 NFT Worlds and other NFTs. According to the floor price, the hacker’s income has reached 4.16 million US dollars.

On April 1, the official Discord of “BAYC” suffered a brief hacker attack. The hacker used a robot account to post fake links in the channel. Jay Chou’s stolen NFT may be lost in the attack.

Although the precious NFT was stolen, it did not seem to affect Jay Chou’s enthusiasm for NFT. He reminded everyone on social media to pay attention, and joked that he would consider asking friends for another one.
