On February 25th, NBA player De’Aaron Fox announced that his NFT collectibles project Swipa The Fox will be disbanded immediately. According to its tweet, the project went live on January 15 of this year, “at the wrong time” due to the unexpected coincidence with the mid-season of the NBA.
I want to address an NFT project we launched recently. The project launch was ill timed. I delegated certain aspects to the launch of the NFT in an attempt to partner with professionals. We weren’t happy with the execution & demand on my time and attention during the NBA season.

Fox proposed on Discord that it would take compensatory measures to provide “All Rookies” members (those who bought 5-9 NFTs) a signed jersey, which is currently estimated to be between $75 and $145 on eBay. He also promised to “reward” MVPs (those who buy at least 20 NFTs), although it’s unclear what the reward will be.
While Fox ended the tweet saying “the project will be updated at the end of the season,” an announcement from Discord administrator Albanian Marauder confirmed that “the project is now largely over.” All social media accounts for the project have been deleted, swipathefox The .io domain name is no longer active.
