OpenSea is one of the world’s leading marketplaces for non-fungible tokens, and its buyers will soon be able to pay for NFTs using credit, debit or Apple Pay without any cryptocurrency required.
The move comes from a partnership with MoonPay, a fintech company building payments infrastructure in the cryptocurrency space. The company announced the news on Friday morning, and MoonPay is also the company that has partnered with numerous celebrities to facilitate their purchases of Bored Ape NFTs.
Last month, OpenSea announced that it generated more than $5 billion in total transaction volume between its January Ethereum ETH 0.21% and Polygon MATIC -1.49% sales, breaking OpenSea’s previous record set in August 2021.
Just this week, the NFT marketplace also confirmed that Solana SOL -2.25% NFTs will begin listing this month. It is unclear exactly when OpenSea will start listing Solana NFTs in April.
