Solanaco-founder Anatoly Yakovenko said at the Disrupt 2022 event. It’s been almost four months since Solana announced its web3-focused smartphone Saga, which is approaching its official release date, plans have changed.
We don’t need $10 million in sales right away, we’re actually targeting a very small audience, heavily encrypted web3 users. Users don’t have to log into four different apps to create crypto transactions.
The web3-focused phone will allow content creators and platforms to enable digital ownership for organizations and users, instead of paying Apple and Google a 30 percent tax on app sales, Yakovenko added. The concept of true digital ownership means that digital items must be treated like physical objects, and that’s not something Apple or Google revolves around.
