According to Merchants’ Q1 2022 Consumer Survey, 53% of South African respondents are interested in cryptocurrencies. The survey also found that only 14 percent of South Africans felt they were knowledgeable about the topic of cryptocurrencies, while 23 percent of respondents remained neutral.
The survey showed that 18- to 24-year-olds are the most likely to know more about cryptocurrencies, while those over 25 are less likely to know about the topic of cryptocurrencies.
Additionally, almost half of respondents said they would be more likely to trust and invest in cryptocurrencies if they were offered through their bank.
