Who is Satoshi Nakamoto, the legendary inventor of Bitcoin BTC 1.69%? This question has been haunting people in the currency circle since 2008, and it is one of the biggest unsolved mysteries of our time.
After the global financial crisis broke out in 2008, someone published a paper under the pseudonym “Satoshi Nakamoto” explaining the concept of Bitcoin. In 2009, the world’s largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin was officially born.
However, for the originator of the digital currency, no one has ever seen his true face. In the past ten years, many people have claimed to have discovered the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, but they have finally admitted defeat. Others have claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto, but this has never been officially confirmed.
A few days ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted an online post about Satoshi Nakamoto, rekindling speculation about the true identity of the mysterious Bitcoin developer.
In a tweet on Wednesday, Musk shared an image suggesting that the pseudonym Satoshi Nakamoto is just a collection of the initials of four prominent electronics companies: “Sa” from South Korea’s Samsung, “Toshi” From Japan Toshiba, “Naka” from Japan Nakamichi, “Moto” from the United States Motorola.
Musk has more than 77.34 million followers. The tweet sparked heated discussions among netizens. Some people ridiculed that the inventor of Bitcoin was half Japanese, one quarter Korean, and one quarter American, and some speculated that Musk was Satoshi Nakamoto.

However, the claims that the above-mentioned four companies are related to the identity of Nakamoto are not new. This latest image released by Musk has been circulating on the Internet as early as 2017. Musk didn’t add any new instructions or say what he wanted to convey.
Eternal mystery
In fact, Musk has been rumored to be Satoshi Nakamoto since 2017, however, Musk has denied these rumors.
Musk is one of the proponents of cryptocurrencies. He especially likes Dogecoin DOGE 0.80%, and some Tesla neighborhoods also accept Dogecoin as a payment method. As of Dec. 31, Tesla held $1.99 billion worth of bitcoin on its balance sheet.
While most of those suspected of being Satoshi have denied it, Australian computer scientist Craig Wright claimed to be Satoshi years ago. He reportedly wrote in a 2016 blog post that he was the real Satoshi Nakamoto and had evidence to support his claim.
Some, including Musk himself, previously believed that computer scientist Nick Szabo was the real Satoshi. “You can look at the evolution of ideas before Bitcoin, and see who wrote those ideas,” Musk said when asked about the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto.
He said that while he “apparently” doesn’t know who created Bitcoin, Saab’s theory appears to have been crucial to the creation of the leading cryptocurrency.
Speculation continues on the web, and the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto is likely to remain a mystery forever.
