The U.S. Bitcoin BTC 0.15% mining giant is looking to Scandinavia, the Middle East and elsewhere to expand its energy-intensive, loosely regulated industry.
“We’re looking for energy resources and capital from the Middle East and Scandinavia,” Mike Levitt, CEO of Austin, Texas-based mining company Core Scientific, told the Bitcoin 2022 conference in Miami, according to the report. A rich area to expand our business.”

Marathon Digital CEO Fred Thiel also said at the conference that he is also looking at the Middle East, saying “the Middle East is a very interesting place because they have asymmetry in power and energy”.
