Cryptocurrency platform Whitepay has launched cryptocurrency payment services at major tech stores in Ukraine, including Tehnoezh and Stylus.
Whitepay launches cryptocurrency payments
Cryptocurrency holders in Ukraine will be able to pay with digital assets at these online stores, or at brick-and-mortar stores via POS terminals installed by Whitepay. It is reported that buyers can use more than 130 different cryptocurrencies to make purchases, and more cryptocurrencies will be supported in the future.
Estonia-based Whitebit, a major European cryptocurrency exchange originating from Ukraine, has been a participant in such efforts. Earlier this year, the trading platform signed a memorandum of cooperation with the country’s foreign ministry to provide assistance to its anti-crisis center and support Ukrainian refugees through its representation abroad.
Ukraine offers fast shopping with cryptocurrencies
Whitepay introduced cryptocurrency payments for products offered by Ukrainian major technology stores in August. Customers of retailers such as Tehnoezh and Stylus can now use the services provided by the payment platform built by Whitebit.
Over the past few years, Ukraine has emerged as a leader among countries adopting cryptocurrencies. With the adoption of cryptocurrencies and efforts to regulate the industry, the number of Ukrainians using Bitcoin BTC 3.12% continues to increase.
Both the Kyiv government and volunteer groups are actively raising funds through cryptocurrency donations to fund defense and humanitarian initiatives. The crypto community has responded to calls for help. In June, Binance released a special crypto card for Ukrainian refugees.
Thanks to the services provided by Whitepay, Ukrainians will be able to use cryptocurrencies to buy electronics and other products. The payment processor established by Ukrainian-born digital asset exchange Whitebit recently implemented cryptocurrency payments at the country’s largest tech store.
