Canadian authorities are working to confiscate all Bitcoin donations made to Liberty Fleet truck drivers after the group protested against Canada’s vaccine mandate. According to a report, the Canadian government is working to recover the majority of the $880,000 worth of peer-to-peer cryptocurrency donations made to the Freedom Team cause.
However, the Canadian government has been unable to stop a fundraiser called Bitcoin Truck Driver, which raises cryptocurrency donations for the protests.
The Ontario Supreme Court has ordered the owner of a multi-sig wallet containing donated Bitcoins to freeze funds, along with 122 other crypto addresses. Prior to the Supreme Court’s order, 14.6 of the 20.7 Bitcoins had been allocated to 101 separate unidentified crypto wallets, CBC reported.
