Luxury brand Gucci will begin accepting cryptocurrency payments in some U.S. stores later this month, and plans to expand the pilot to all of its North American-operated stores this summer.
The first Gucci stores to support crypto payments include Wooster Street in New York, Rodeo Drive in Los Angeles, Design District in Miami, Phipps Plaza in Atlanta and the Crystals store in Las Vegas.
Accepted cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin BTC -0.21%, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum ETH 0.12%, WBTC, Litecoin LTC -0.83%, Dogecoin DOGE -0.49%, Shiba Inu, and five dollar-pegged stablecoins. Gucci recently formed a team focused on Web3 and has purchased and is developing digital real estate on blockchain-based real estate platform The Sandbox, where brands like Adidas and Al Dente are also developing land, the report said.
