Following a decision by its board of directors, Twitter has officially launched a poison pill, a time-limited shareholder rights plan, to counter Musk’s takeover.
The program is triggered by anyone acquiring 15% or more of Twitter‘s outstanding common stock in a transaction not approved by the board of directors, and the program is valid for one year. Twitter considers poison pill to fend off Musk’s hostile takeover.
