Grace Berkery, director of startups at Mastercard, said at Benzinga’s Future of Cryptocurrency event. I feel like once you get an agency into a field, it’s very hard to get them to pivot.
So, if they’re going to get in, they’re going to stay in the field. Don’t think institutions are shying away from the crypto industry, but will be more concerned about their diligence and who they work with, and with companies that have a good track record and existing clients.
The focus will be less on the hype in the space and more on what the actual value as a company is.
Berkery said, I think this is a good time to re-enter the encryption industry, and there are definitely still opportunities for institutions to cooperate with cryptocurrency companies.
