According to the CryptoLiteracy survey report, only 9% of the 1,000 respondents in the United States achieved a passing score in the encryption basics quiz.
The approval rate has more than doubled from last year’s 4%, but it is still far below the 32% of Americans who own cryptocurrency and the 36% of Americans who plan to buy cryptocurrency in the next six months. Of these, only 30% know what It is a network node, while only 25% understand cryptocurrency mining, 20% correctly understand staking and Satoshi Nakamoto, and only 18% understand decentralized finance or DeFi.
Additionally, cryptocurrencies are far more popular among men than women in the U.S., with 46 percent of men saying they own cryptocurrencies, up from 22 percent last year, while women only grew from 12 percent to 18 percent.
