Ethereum ETH 0.27% founder Vitalik Buterin said on Twitter Space this week, “If we want Bitcoin BTC -0.05% to be more than just a payment method, it needs a scaling solution like Plasma or ZK Rollup. Both of which are already on Ethereum tested”.
He also stated that Optimism and Arbitrum are two successful rollups that can serve as case studies for Bitcoin.

Buterin also tried to find commonalities between the two ecosystems of Ethereum and Bitcoin.
He pointed out that both blockchains have immutability, while they both have L1 privacy issues. Ethereum has been experimenting with several scaling solutions over the years, with the latest proposal being EIP-4844, which introduces blobs, enabling up to 100,000 transactions per second.
